  24. Take 2-3 pinches salt
  25. Make ready 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  26. Make ready 1/2 (1 teaspoon) chilli powder
Instructions to make Quick Mushroom Brown-Rice Biryani:
  1. Wash and soak brown rice for 10 minutes.
  2. While rice is soaking you can chop all your vegetables and keep ready all the other required items.
  3. Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a pressure cooker, add all the whole spices.
  4. Add the carrots, beans and green peas and saute for 2 minutes
  5. Add salt and other masalas mentioned for biryani. Add 1-3/4 cups of water and boil for 2 minutes. Cover the cooker lid and take 1 whistle.
  6. Rice is ready let's prepare the tempering in a pan.
  7. In another pan heat oil add chopped cashews and sliced onions and saute.
  8. When onions turn slightly golden add chopped mushrooms and saute till they change colour. Add spices and salt mentioned in tempering section.
  9. Add the cooked rice and mix. The biryani is ready below 20 minutes. I prepared for my son and daughter's lunch box at 7 am in the morning.
