  1. Prepare 2 spaghetti squash
  2. Take 1 cup white cooking wine

  4. Prepare 2 tsp lemon juice

  6. Prepare 1 olive oil, extra virgin
  7. Make ready 1 onion, chopped
  8. Make ready 6 piece whole garlic
  9. Get 2 stick butter
  10. Get cup water
  11. Take 1 cup heavy cream
  12. Take 1 lb cooked shrimp

The shrimp should be thawed if frozen and peeled with the tails removed. I have been looking for a traditional shrimp scampi recipie and this is it. My wife said that is the best thing I have cooked for a while and Loved it! I could not find asiago cheese so I added some parmesan and the avocados.

Instructions to make Not your ordinary shrimp scampi:
  1. preparing your squash
  2. Cut your squash in half lengthwise
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and salt and pepper
  4. Turn over in pan add a lil bit of water to keep from drying out
  5. Place in preheated oven 450°F, cook for about an hour or until tender
  6. While squash bakes prepare your sauce ….Chop garlic and onions
  7. Melt butter and set aside
  8. Preparing shrimp: heat skillet and coat pan with olive oil. Place shrimp in skillet and cook until pink about 3-4 mins. .place shrimp in bowl and set aside
  9. Add olive oil ,chopped garlic and onion to heated skillet , cook on low for about 5mins, then add in heavy cream, melted butter, cooking white wine, lemon juice, salt, pepper , increase heat to medium and add cooked shrimp in cook for a few more minutes until come to a light boil.
  10. Your squash should be ready poke with fork ,(fork should go all the way though to make sure tender) let stand for about 15mins will be very hot
  11. Use fork and shred squash (should look just like noodles) yum.
  12. Place squash and scampi on plate and enjoy add salt pepper I garnished with seeded peppers and chilli pepper (I like it spicy)😊 serve with buttermilk biscuits sprinkle with cinnamon

My wife said that is the best thing I have cooked for a while and Loved it! I could not find asiago cheese so I added some parmesan and the avocados. She'd stock up on those Costco shrimp scampi boxes where everything was prepackaged and all that was left to do was either microwave or heat through over stovetop. This recipe was absolutely the BEST Scampi I have ever made. The crusty Italian bread is a perfect complement I did cut down on the red pepper flakes.
